The test tag periodically transmits short LE-UWB™ beacon packets at a configurable update rate. The anchor board detects these transmissions to determine whether the tag is present within the defined coverage area. Between beacon events, the tag remains in a low-power state, enabling persistent presence detection for battery-powered and energy-harvesting applications.

Discovery Mode automatically initiates Time-of-Flight ranging to measure the distance between the anchor and tag with high precision. The entire discovery and transition process is handled natively by LE-UWB™, with no BLE link, secondary radio, or external coordination mechanism required. Ranging is activated only when needed, preserving energy while enabling accurate and responsive distance measurement.
